Philosophy

From our work for more than a dozen years in school management and turnaround, we have drawn a number of observations about new school creation, underperforming school turnaround, governance issues, academic diligence, operational shortcomings, etc. As a result of our observations, we have created interventions by which we address school performance, in which we lean more toward the importance of structures, and the monitoring of the performance of those structures, than we do to the rigid adherence of a specific academic design. This is not to say that academic design is not important, because it is essential, but rather that there is more than one design that can be powerful for schools, and that certain underlying structures in our experience are common to most of them.
