History

Renaissance School Services was founded in 2006 by Richard O'Neill, a former General Manager and Senior Vice President at Edison Schools, where he built, developed, and operated schools K-12 in the eastern half of the United States. Created specifically to address shortcomings in the operational side of charter schools and to provide school turnaround management, RSS has since added a research capability based on its extensive school management and turnaround experience. RSS has worked with the NewSchools Venture Fund and with Mass Insight Education and Research Institute on research projects focusing on chronically underperforming schools and on School Management Organizations (SMOs). Renaissance's senior management team is one of the most experienced in school turnround in the country.
